Questions we get
Who we are, what adaptive archery is, and how we can help you.
- What is LevelBow?
- We’re a student-led community project that removes barriers in sport so anyone can compete on their own terms. The “Bow” in our name comes from archery, the sport we started with. We design light bows and adaptive rigs. Partner clubs run the sessions at their own ranges, with their own coaches.
- What is adaptive archery?
- It’s archery set up so anyone can take part. We fit the equipment and the range to the archer: light bows, adaptive rigs, foot locators and spotters. Our adaptations follow World Archery’s Para standards.
- Who can take part?
- Anyone 12 and older. Sessions suit beginners, and archers with a physical, visual or cognitive disability, or limited strength.
- How can you help me?
- If you run a club or coach at one, we can help you start Adaptive Archery Sessions. We’ll advise on equipment and setup. If you’re an archer or a family who wants to take part, sessions run at The Archers of Caledon, and our Adaptive Archery site explains how to join.
- Who runs the sessions?
- The Archers of Caledon’s coaches run them at the club’s range. We bring the adaptive equipment and help set it up.
- Can I build LevelBow P1 myself?
- Yes. Our guides for P1 and for our adaptive rig for visually impaired archers are free and open source, on our Build it page. Have a qualified coach check the equipment before anyone uses it.
